A few weeks ago I went to see the exhibition at Royal Academy of Arts dedicated to Leonardo da Vinci, Raphael and Michelangelo. I then visited one of the oldest and most beautiful bookstores in London called Hatchards, right across the street from the Royal Academy. After browsing through some bookshelves I stopped by at Waterstones Piccadilly to see the Booker Prize Library on the ground floor. Afterwards I went to the book launch of All Dogs Die by the Kurdish writer, filmmaker and artist, Cemile Sahin whose book was published by one of the best independent publishers, MTO Press. Book launch was followed by the screening of Cemile’s short movie ‘Four Ballads for my Father -Spring’ at a lovely Close Up Film Centre in Shoreditch. Film explores themes of police violence, militarism and the institutionalisation of natural resources. It was a lovely winter evening. I hope you will enjoy the digital record of that day.
